The idea
The plant pot is a metaphor for the house as a perpetually growing entity. The Swiss Army knife is the foundation — it embodies all the different tools and appliances inside the house that suddenly had to do everything during lockdown.
Since the knife is the foundation for all the movement in the GIF, it sits dead-center so the eye stays on what's unfolding above it.
Craft
Drawn as pixel art in Photoshop and Illustrator and assembled frame-by-frame into a looping GIF. The constraint of a tiny canvas forced every element to earn its pixels.
